How Do I Add New Color Profiles

Postby spicoli » Sun Apr 21, 2013 11:43 pm

Inkscape .48
Windows XP Pro

My issue is converting RGB to CMYK. Thus far I've had no luck with the extension but I'm still trying. I'm right now attempting the Scribus workaround by linking a CMYK color profile then importing the SVG with ICC profile to Scribus, however I have no proper profiles in the drop down menu in the color management tab. I have a few profiles native to my laptop (LCD monitor, digital camera) and I've downloaded a CMYK ICC file but I don't know where to add it to the inkscape system. Any help would be appreciated.

If you just hover with the mouse pointer over the 'Display Profile' button (clicking on it opens the dropdown list) in 'Inkscape Preferences > Color Management > Display adjustment', the tooltip will list all directories searched by Inkscape for color profiles used for display adjustment and for linking into SVG files via document properties. Place a copy of your additional profile(s) into one of those paths, and restart Inkscape. The profile then should be available in the preferences as well as in the document properties dialog (assuming it's a valid color profile which can be read by lcms - the library Inkscape uses for ICC support).

suv, thank you very much, my friend. Profiles moved to correct folder and now available in the color management menu.
