How to set default settings to all shapes, colors, opacities, etc inside the Inkscape? So far I use, as a quick help, deleting of "%USERPROFILE%\Inkscape\preferences.xml" ....
Re: default settings
I'm not sure if it's possible. But you might have a look at File menu > Inkscape Preferences > Shapes. I don't see a button to reset defaults, but you might find the other settings useful.

Re: default settings
In OS X you can save a new default.svg in below path (choose Go to folder from Go menu in Finder)
~/.config/inkscape/templates/
Each time you fire up Inkscape it should be exactly as you saved the default.svg.
Works great for me

The "default settings to all shapes, colors, opacities, etc" asked to reset are not stored in the template but in the preferences file. You cannot reset those preferences from within Inkscape (but it is a known requested feature).
Re: default settings
To bad, i actually thought it defaulted most settings with the file... but
Anyway, i like to have my start document set up without border shadow and in a size i like so it's still useful to have a custom default.
Lets hope we'll get a future feature to save settings

Re: default settings
My so far solution is that I have saved somewhere default prefrences.xml and if in inkscape happens something I can not revert I close Inkscape and run the batch file that copies default preferences.xml to proper destination.
