Problem with filter

Postby belushka » Sat May 05, 2012 6:54 am

Hi, after I edit .svg file, and change the colors, for example invert them and save the file again as .png nothing happens. The filter doesn't "stay". The file is as it was before the color invert. Why is this?

Welcome to the forum :D

How are you getting the PNG file? You probably should use File menu > Export Bitmap (not Save As Cairo png). If that's what you already did, we may need to look at the SVG file.

Let us know if that helps :D

I'm not sure if I can explain. All I know is that Export Bitimap is the proper way to get a PNG version, and there's something about Cairo PNG that causes transparency to be lost. Since many, if not most filters use transparency, I was guessing that to be the problem.

There may be some explanation here: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL ... xport.html (I haven't read it closely.) Or you could search for Cairo, and look for any image related results (i.e. not about Egypt, lol).
