Any ideas how to draw the "circle" around the words from the word list onto the word search puzzle. This is a RLS rhyme that I am making into a visual poem.
Thanks!!

Re: need idea for circling words on a word search image
I could do this all manually. With the align and distribute panel I would get the dimensions of the basic grid, then create a "circle" of an octogon of that size.
Then, aligning such "circles" to the start and end letters of the words, adding and merging them together in pairs, deleting the unnecessary nodes, and you have an accurate "circle" around the words.
Edit: with a second look the letters are not aligned well on a grid, I would strat with that. Also the "circle" has to be wider than the grid size a bit.

Press Shift+Ctrl+A for that panel.
Result should look as in the attached svg.

All these suggestions are good. Let me add my own, not to criticize anyone else's...
The align dialog is a lot of work for this, compared to the rows and columns dialog, which will arrange all of them in one shot. Do count very carefully, though. Even the time it takes to learn its options will still be less than doing it with align, plus you can 'pad' each 'cell'. (Sounds like an asylum!)
You might also want to use the rounded corners on a rectangle rather than drawing a lot of circles and merging them with whatever method. Once again, one shot. The rounding is achieved by moving the little circular control points in the top right corner of the rectangle. As long as it's still a rectangle you can rotate it to whatever angle - if you have diagonal words...

Your mind is what you think it is.

Again, thanks. Great help. Admittedly ignorant regarding some basic concepts here but learning!

I would have done it manuall just like Druban did. Just keep duplicating the rounded rectangle and adjusting the size, and then you can also rotate it to get the words found on a slant. I would also recommend changing the stroke colors to make them stand out more.
So what is 'keyword' knowledge, that isnt making sense to me at all.

Probably a spammer Dee. I'm watching. Actually I shouldn't have approved it.

Just someone suggesting me to google up those words to find them in the crossword puzzle.
What if googlemap had a function for that:
