I like to work in inkscape with two views, the main view where I work and a duplicate view so I can see the whole illustration. But I'm sick of hiding everything in View > Show/Hide by hand.

• Is there an option to hide everything, like TAB in Photoshop?
• If not does anyone know of an extension or script that could do that?
• And if there is no script, could someone tell me where I can find a reference to the script commands available in Inkscape? I tried Googling, but I can't find anything thorough.

There is the fullscreen mode (F11), which has it's own set of visibility settings. The visibility of dialogs can be toggled with F12.

I tried Fullscreen and Hide dialogs, but neither do what I need it to do.

Just switching to fullscreen mode won't have the desired effect. You still have to switch all those things off once. As I said it has it's own set of visibility settings.
