i just upgraded from .48 to .91 and i am having problems with the patten along path tool. the thing is i am unable to increase the width of a selected object. i am using a mac with 10.6. if anyone has similar problems then please let me know what you did to overcome this issue.

Use the LPE unless you have some compelling reason to use the extension. I'm assuming 'tool' to mean extension but of course probably incorrectly.

Just a thought.
In 0.48 you could add triangle shape to your pencil strokes, which in 0.91 is implemented by powerstroke.
You need to move small handles to increase the width on it.
