I see from the FAQ that it's recommended to uninstall previous versions before installing new ones. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I just want to be sure.

Will uninstalling the old version cause me (and others) to lose all my saved Inkscape images? I'm guessing no, because they're stored separately from the program files. But as I said, I just want to be sure.

It should not remove any of your saved files unless you've save your files in the Inkscape installation folder--but even then I don't think it would remove them.

We did actually have a bug with the installer on one version where it did just blindly delete the install dir, so your better off not assuming things like this
