Inkscape Collaboration? Inkboard?

Postby enthewhite » Wed Feb 08, 2012 4:52 am

Hello all,

I am wondering if there are currently any solutions for collaborating on inkscape documents. I saw some google results talking about inkboard being integrated, but didn't find any useful info-- not even sure what inkboard is?

If anybody has any info about inkscape collaboration, or collaboration on any other similar document (pdf, svg, anything with layers I guess) I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,

Ian

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

By collaborating, do you mean 2 (or more?) people on 2 (or more?) different computers, working on the same document at the same time? It's not possible to my knowledge, and I've never heard of "Inkboard" either. But I don't keep up with the development side of Inkscape very closely. It's possible that someone is working on something like that.

If you don't get any more informative replies here, you might try either contacting the mailing list (http://inkscape.org/mailing_lists.php?lang=en), or searching the mailing list archives. Unfortunately, I've lost my link to the archives. Maybe someone else knows? Or there's an IRC channel too.

Or maybe someone else knows something about Inkboard, whatever it is :?

See this earlier topic here in the forum: Re: What happened to inkboard integration? and this item in the release notes of 0.47: "No more Whiteboard".

There was a new (external) project started to replace the old broken code with a new implementation (based on the dbus scripting API in current trunk) - see inkboardng - but I'm not informed whether it is currently being worked on.
