i read somewhere that xara will be merged into inkscape ....any possible time or date? just like Gimp is coming up with docked panel...

LOL, the Gimp is *the* bad example. The 2.7 version is like duke nukem forever.

I didn't know a merge was planned ? I don't even know if it's doable, and/or if it's a good idea.

... hummm that sounds like some very old speculation from when Xara announced that is was going to release it's software to Open Source but then they sold the company and the new owners killed the project

The last I read, inkscape is moving from it's current engine to ciro?
