[solved] Putting text on a curve

Hi,

When I select the text and the object together, then select "put on path" from the text drop-down menu, nothing happens. Am I missing something?

Possibly. I can't think of what you migth be doing wrong, but when something doesn't work a message will appear in Notification Region at the bottom of the Inkscape window to say what went wrong.

Seems to be working now. Is there a way to control the orientation of the text? Make in concave or convex? It gets place in the same spot on the curve each time, and it's not quite what I want.
