I'm trying to find a "uniform" way to create rays of light from a circle. Manually going around the circle/box is not "evening" out.
Here is an example of what I'm trying to accomplish.
Thanks for any tips,

Re: rays of light
Hi.
Duplicate circle, resize it with object select tool-bounding box corner handle while holding Ctrl+Shift-, select both duplicant and original.
Combibe them together (Ctrl+K), and add a stitch subpaths lpe.

Re: rays of light
I dont get it. I'm trying to duplicate the rays of light - not create a duplicate circle.
Re: rays of light
Here it is:
-download it and open in inkscape.
You asked for circles, this is how you can use them.
Personally I would rather rely on drawing polygons and run the extrude extension, but that's just nit picking.

Re: rays of light
Whats wrong with tiled clones ?
Isnt that the most obvious solution ?
EDIT:
I wrote a tutorial how to create a sunburst in IS and you can find it here:
http://gimp-science-labs.blogspot.de/20 ... burst.html
Hope that helps.
Amazing !
But i have no idea why it works....

Not sure what made that b&w svg that big, should bee 600 px/ 600 px.
The cheapest workaround could be by drawing a star with the spoke ratio set to the minimum.
On tiled clones and rotation center setting problem, if there are 2*x repeats, you can easily make a duplicant of the tile, flip it, snap to position and combine/group with the original, so you get a base tile easier to handle.
