Transfering an open window to external monitor

Postby gjosh » Sat Mar 22, 2014 9:36 am

Hi all,

I have a Dell external monitor hooked to my macbook pro running on OS 10.9.1
I am having issues moving my window opened on inkscape on my laptop to monitor to Dell monitor. When I move the window to external monitor the window becomes invisible and only a cursor is seen. I do not have this issue with any other program. Is there any thing specific about Inkscape that I am missing here?

Thanks,
Gaurav.

In OS X 10.9 Mavericks, Apple has changed how spaces and multiple screens interact - X11/XQuartz is not fully compatible with those changes, and thus it affects any application which - like the current Inkscape package for Mac OS X - runs under it. If you search the web you'll find a couple of tips how to best deal with the current situation (a real fix needs to be provided by Apple in a future update of Mavericks, according to the developer and maintainer of XQuartz).

For project Inkscape, this issue is tracked in bug #1244397.
