I'm using GIMP 2.61 with my tablet and I find that my tool settings are remembered per input device and it's very annoying.

For example, I might be drawing something in green with the pen, then put it down and pick up the mouse to select a red colour. Then when I pick up the pen again the colour is back to green, and when I pick up the mouse the colour goes back to red. It's not just colour that is remembered, it's everything including the tool, brush, etc.

It does this also when I flip the pen upside down as an eraser, but in this case I do actually want to switch to a different tool.

Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent GIMP remembering tool settings per input device?

I do not think so since gimp treats these as separate entities (stylus, eraser, mouse) you are essentially assigning the tool of choice to the instrument you are using at the time.
