Hi,
I have a layer (LAYER1) with an object (I will call LEAF1), and clones of LEAF1 created with the Spray tool in Clone mode.
I want a duplicate layer (LAYER2) which includes a new leaf 'master' object (i will call LEAF2) and the clones from Layer>Duplicate
I want to then change the color/fill of LEAF2 so the LEAF2 clones in LAYER2 change.
That was my thought process. After I use Layer>Duplicate I can find no way to set the LAYER2 clones to inherit color/fill from the new LEAF2 master object. I looked at Object Properties thinking I could point the clones to LEAF2 but did not figure out how to do that.
Is there a solution?
thanks

You need to set this in the preferences:
Edit -> Inkscape Preferences -> Behavior -> Clones: Relink Duplicated Clones

Okay, upon testing, this doesn't work, when duplicating a layer. This appears to be a bug.

But it'll be fixed in 0.92 (just tested), so you won't have to wait for too long, I think.
