Why are you interested?

Thanks. Was logicaly getting there, but nowhere to confirm.

Interested into having earth coordinates marking upper left and lower right coordinate of a rectangle.
Since I have a working map of earth, figured, I can get leftmost, topmost, ... coordinates (bounding box) from d values, and since I can get earh coordinate from point on svg map, I could then create that rectangle on map.

I actualy do have code like this:

m Moves pen to specified point x,y relative to current pen location, without drawing.

so I move twice and do nothing & I have no idea which is relative point to first point in this d set of data ?

d value copyed from inkscape file.

many of d values are starting like that (m & 2 sets of coordinates).

Let's focus on these. Are you trying to use javascript with SVG?
Try to divide your problem:
- You have a map of earth
- In SVG Format
- It's composed of paths
- You want to get the bounding box of the paths.
There are functions (in Javascript (or Ecma Script?)) which returns the bounding box of a path:

The method is getBBox.

Using Inkscape: there is an option in Edit Menu, to get width and heigth of any selected object.

About this, I'm also confused. I don't know if it's relative to the element below to the selected, or specificaly, to a path element.
Inkscape, also have an option in its preferences to get paths elements using absolute coordinates (?). {Well, at least It tries, but when you translate, or scale, or rotates a path, the relative coordinates sintaxis appears again}. Or maybe not

Again, what are you trying to do?. I mean, why are you so interested in relative coordinates of paths. Because i think it's better to avoid that problem.

I'm still don't get it
Maybe it's because english it's not my first lenguage, or maybe it's a misunderstood of some kind.
So:
- You imported an svg map to inkscape
- Now, you want to link that map to a earth coordinate system.
-- But It won't be better to use a CAD program or a GIS program?

I don't know where or how you obtained the svg file. But it wasn't done in Inkscape. Because it contains elements like polygons and lines, and blank lines. Those are valid SVG graphic elements. But Inkscape doesnt use them. Inkscape only use paths because ... I don't know (easyness of development?). However, Inkscape is capable of showing them.
But it's possible to transform those stranger objects to PATHS in inkscape. In my case, I ungrouped all the elements (select all ojbects with Ctrl+ A and Ctrl + Shift + G to Ungroup, several times ). Then, select all (Ctrl + A), and apply Object to Path command (Shift + Ctrl + C). So all those elements are now Path.

And why I did that? ... Just to simplify the problem, I suppose.

So now, we have a list of paths, but doesn't have a control point, or landmark. How to relate that list to a earth coordinate system?. Using what projection?

I'm attaching the SVG file zipped.

EDIT: Well, now that all the elements are converted to paths and ungrouped you now can select each one. When you select one path, you will see a bar showing the dimensions (WIDTH AND HEIGTH ) and the coordinates of the BOTTOM LEFT corner of the BOUNDING BOX of the path. I don't know if that information can be used for you to relate it to a cartographic map.
