I saw somewhere the idea that system fonts and Inkscape fonts may be different.

I am attempting to paste Burmese labels on drawings and Inkscape is not finding that font.

Where do I find this info? Sorry, I can't remember where I saw it.

I don't understand what you mean by "system fonts and Inkscape fonts may be different."

Inkscape can only use fonts that are installed on the system. It can't use fonts if they aren't installed.

I remember some discussion of fonts which the user uninstalled, yet they still can be used by Inkscape. But I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

Do you have the font installed, that you want to use?

Oh, well there is an issue if the name of the font contains certain or unusual characters.... No, I think that's something different....

Can you give us some info about the font? It name and/or download link (if it's a free font - not sure if anyone would be willing to purchase a font, just for testing)? Also please tell us your operating system and Inkscape version.
