As a little challenge I set myself the task of doing one vector piece each day. It went quite well and really shows what I can do in under an hour. Here's one of the pieces

I think this one is too dark.

I agree that it's too dark, but I like the design.

Thanks for the input. On reflection it is a bit dark! I'll keep it in mind for the next designs

I couldnt see a link there to any image...anyway....
One image a day... thats an awesome thing to be able to achieve...
Im working on something now...(its actually not an inkscape peice as i actually started it in a different application (xara) and only discovered inkscape half way through...im a newbie on both applications)
it'll probably take me 2 months or more (in my spare time...) to complete it....
Then i will do a similar piece in inkscape i wouldn't mind doing this exercise just to compare both from a newbie perspective...
As this will help me evaluate which one better suits the type of work I do and the way i do it...
