Hi All. I'm an Inkscape virgin.I use an embroidery program that can automatically convert EMF files to sew patterns. To achieve that one has to, in (eg Corel Draw), use the "Convert To Curves" procedure & then save as an EMF. Can this be done with Inkscape? If so, how? Many thanks in advance.

"Convert to curves" is analogous to "Object to path".

Text and shape objects are not paths with nodes until they are converted. Before conversion, they have their own toolsets for controlling shape, size, style, etc... once converted, they are paths that are manipulated by node-editing and transforms; the origianl toolsets can no longer be used.

So beware, once you convert to a path, there is no converting back, so sometimes using a copy is wise. (Hide the originals in another layer.)
