I just bought a new computer and I can no longer copy and paste my designs from Inkscape into Paint Shop Pro which I've been doing for years. It's a must for me because that is the program I use to shade my designs. I have no problems with my old computer but I can't waste all my time going back and fourth from the new computer to the old. Does anyone know if this is an Inkscape issue or Windows 8 issue? The computer that I have no problems with has Windows 7 and Inkscape 0.47 the computer that won't work has Windows 8 and Inkscape 0.48 This is the message I'm getting and I've tried everything!!! Unable to get data from clipboard. Does someone have a simple answer? my computer skills are limited.

Which version PSP?

First, I would see if the image can be copied from one instance (window) of Inkscape to another Inkscape instance. That should indicate if the clipboard is getting the data from Inkscape ok.

Next I would see if PSP can do the same thing: copy and paste to another instance or window of itself.

thanks for your help! Everything copies fine in Inkscape and in PSP it just won't work from Inkscape to PSP I really thought it had something to do with Windows 8 but I think it's an Inkscape issue. I just downloaded 0.48 on my older computer which is running windows 7 and now that computer doesn't work. It was fine using 0.47 then I thought I could just downloaded the older version of Inkscape on my new computer but all the downloads are for the new version. Should I report this as a bug or don't they consider that as a bug? Do you know how I can get the 0.47 download?

Have you tried saving as "plain svg" and opening in Corel? Not quite as fast as copy/paste, but might suit your needs.

I love love love Inkscape but have had problems with my local print shop printing rackcards. They didn't want to print from my pdf and when they copied (I think dragged) my inkscape svg file into corel draw a lot was off. eg. cropping, placement, layering, page edges. I ended up having to pay them to reformat my art work to try to match what my pdf looked like to them. Sigh. So much for spending hours tweeting my images to perfection. Is there a way to save the file so that corel is happy? Has anyone had success with this? (I don't know if they looked at the "plain svg" I supplied them with, or just the inkscape svg one...they were a bit unhelpful. I don't know if they tried to open the file in corel or just gave up when dragging didn't work). As I said, absolutely love inksacpe....hate the conflict at the printery.

How can a print shop not print from PDF? I'd shop elsewhere.
