In my opinion they would look much better with some outlines.
Something as the mouth of the second one has.
And a little thicker one around all the shape.
Also the detail level of that book is too much compared to the character.

Thanks Lazur URH, just what I needed! Normally I don't like outlines, but I liked the idea of the overall outline, and gave also the other one a shot, here's the outcome:





I agree with the lod of the book, jsut wanted to put my signature somewhere, I think I will keep it that way.

The second one now looks quite good, maybe with a bit thicker black outline around, it can be even better?
At least it would make the look of the white outline, where the black outline has cusp nodes better.
Also the white outline's width is not consistent at the left arm.
Oh, just realised: sword in the left arm? Is he really a lefty?

Yeah I changed the arm a bit after I created the overall outline, but I think it's not that bad. Yes he should be a lefty, it should be a mixture of myself, guybrush threepwood (https://d15uu3l1sro2ln.cloudfront.net/w ... 85x585.jpg) and a custom style.
