I'm using the just released 0.46 on MacOS X 10.5 (Leopard), on an Intel MacBook.
The new PDF import function does not seem to work here: when trying to open/import any PDF file (which does not appear amongst the types supported by Inkscape in the file requester, by the way) I get an error:


Is this a known limitation in the MacOS version?

I am having similar experiences. Tried opening or importing many PDF files and always get "Failed to load the requested file". No PDF file extension shows as file options in IMPORT or OPEN.

Thanks for the pointer, but I wanted to be sure it's a bug before reporting it... it seems very strange to me that one of the most important new features in this release is not working at all in one of the most popular operating systems... I can't believe it's "just a bug" , I would be glad to discover it's just my fault instead.

That's nothing: the latest Windows version of Inkscape apparently won't even start up.

Anyway, John Olsen has reported the bug (bug 207214).
