Inkscape and Wacom Tablet
Inkscape and Wacom Tablet
I have a Dell XPS 420 running Vista Ultimate. I want to use Inkscape to trace Jpg pictues on a separate layer. I have an Intuos 2 (XD) tablet and pen and have the newest drivers suggested by Wacom. I cannot get the tablet and Inkscape to work together. I can see the cursor in Inkscape, but it won't draw anything. I want to use the pencil tool in particular. The pen/tablet works well in Adobe Photoshop, but not in Inkscape. Is there a problem with the two working together that I can solve?

It could be that you need to disable tablet PC settings that come with Vista. Look here http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/remove-the-on-screen-keyboard-on-the-vista-login-screen/
I did that and it works fine now!

Re: Inkscape and Wacom Tablet
I upgraded my drivers to 6.1.0-5(RC) the other day and lost pressure sensetivity in Inkscape and GIMP (but not in other applications). I had to go back to version 6.08-4a.

I did also upgrade, but had no problems with that in inkscape (using latest devel. revision).
I have not tried with GIMP.

I should have said that I'm also using Vista. Are you using Vista?
