Help with

Postby nealienman » Tue Oct 11, 2016 12:45 pm

Hello. I am trying to create a mountain similar to one here:https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/6a/e2/65/6ae265a3987eaee349265352bee26a77.jpg. I've got the shape down however when I try to fill individual triangles, it ends up filling multiple ones and not filling them completely.

I'd zoom in on an area and use the bucket tool to create filled paths, then send those paths behind the stroked path making the "triangle" shapes.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Hi.

Here is a quick workaround -considering you want to preserve the strokes on top-.

  1. select path
  2. remove fill
  3. duplicate it (Ctrl+D)
  4. set thinner stroke
  5. convert stroke to path (Ctrl+Alt+C)
  6. break apart (Ctrl+Shift+K)
  7. group paths (Ctrl+G)
  8. enter group (Ctrl+Enter)
  9. delete bottom most path in the group
  10. select all remaining path (Ctrl+A)
  11. set blue fill
  12. select the tweak tool ant alter the colours
  13. exit group (Ctrl+Backspace)
  14. move group to the bottom (End)

You will see the sloppy connections in the linework is not so beneficial, try to use snapping next time.
