OooOoooOOoh ... A forum full of people who use Inkscape!
Hi there. I have only just stumbled upon this forum (I hadn't been looking, if I am honest), and I'm pleased to find a whole community using Inkscape. I have been using it for about a year, and quite intensely for the last six months. I think that my requirements for Inkscape are probably a bit different from most of your other forum members, though!
I write and illustrate non-fiction for children, and up to last year I used traditional Grant/ink&white paint/lightbox methods. I am now, finally, quicker using Inkscape than I am using pen and paper (hooray). Speed in producing relatively simple b&w linework is very important to me - I have to generate lots of illustrations. I had to commit to a fairly painful transition but, now that it is over, I am excited by stuff that you all probably take for granted. e.g. I should spend much less time tracing!

Hi fizzcat!
Oh, we have had a few children's book illustrators visit the forum over the years. Mostly first time publishers on a mission, lol -- so inspiring! But what amazes me the most, is how many different fields of endeavor find a critical use for Inkscape. Math, many different sciences, artists, musicians, writers, architects, more than I can even remember or list.
Anyways, I'm looking forwards to what we might learn from each other

Thanks. I'll try and post there when I get some drawings that are not assigned to a project (and I have freedom with the copyright). ut on the whole the drawings themselves are quite simple - it is the storyboard that takes the time!

Re: hi inkscape forum
welcome fizzcat. This is a great site, it's the 'unofficial' but the most official inkscape site, there are a couple others (some good ones too); however, this one is where many of the developers of the program stay, so there's quite a bit of talent, knoweldge and skills on here.
We love to see what people are doing with Inkscape, so please show us some stuff! (links to websites, upload sites or a few downloads here are good).

Welcome. Yeah, imagine: a forum full of Inkscape users. What will they think of next?
Well, the secret's out. I guess there's nothing left but showing off some art, if you feel so inclined. Also, it's a great place to ask questions and get some interesting tutorials to get you over any humps.
