I don't understand most of what those traceback messages mean. But the very last line, "no such file or directory" could be helpful. Do you have SignCut installed correctly? Has it worked before? Is this a new problem, or the first time you've tried?

Because of that last line in the error message, I would check and make sure SignCut is installed correctly. Just uninstall and re-install. Unless you're on Windows XP, let the installer choose the best place to install.

Actually I just took over as admin on a forum designed to help people using Inkscape with programs like SignCut. We could both check there, to see if there are any helpful messages. They would be on this board: http://www.inkscapecuttingdesign.com/sm ... board=13.0 in this forum: http://www.inkscapecuttingdesign.com/smf/index.php

But I would still try uninstall/reinstall of SignCut. If you get the same result after that, we'll try to figure out "plan B" (as they say).

Would I instal Python separate? Someone suggested this. I'll un-install in morning and try again. Should I select where to put it. I am on XP. Thanks for your help.

Hhmm, well according to this topic: http://www.inkscapecuttingdesign.com/sm ... opic=568.0 that person had your very same problem. It's too bad they never replied back with the solution :(

It doesn't make sense that installing python would help. Inkscape uses python for most or all of the extensions, as far as I understand. So Inkscape should already have it. At least that's my understanding.

I should have asked this before. Is the file that you tried to send Inkscape named "inkscape.svg"? Or otherwise, what did you send? SVG file? Or EPS? Other?

And I should have asked this even before that. Have you installed the SC extension? http://www.signcutpro.com/download-available-plug-ins/ Is that where the traceback error message came from?

I found a place to get support for SC: http://www.sc-x2.com/signcut-academy-tv-tutorials/ Near the bottom of the menu on the right is a link to live chat support, and if you go there, you can either try their live chat (which may or may not work, I didn't try) or you can submit a support request. (Or search their KB.)

If you contact them and find the answer, please let us know what it is, so it will help others in the future. Also, now I'm just curious, even though I don't have SC.

I had this problem, just create the missing directory and it works fine :)
