Non blurry eps in pdf from matlab to latex through inkscape

Postby mojave » Sun Feb 24, 2013 5:47 am

Hello,
I work with matlab (scientific computing) that allow to export images in EPS format.
I also use latex which needs eps images as input and then produce a pdf document.

When I edit my eps matlab figure in inkscape (add title, add shape, add another figure, etc) and export it in eps to include it in my latex file, then this is what the pdf looks like on mac using different pdf viewers :

and on ubuntu using different pdf viewers :

Now if I edit the eps matlab figure with illustrator, this is what it looks like on mac using different pdf viewers :

and on ubuntu using different pdf viewers :

Do you have any ideas why?

Hi Mojave,

No idea why as I cannot see the dropbox content. Are you using bitmapped fonts? Do you open the eps as editable? Do you save the text as text or as paths? Just a few things that strike my mind when it comes to eps exports.

Well hopefully it was because they found the answer to their question, rather than impatience. But I guess sometimes you don't want to put certain images in the public. I'm sure they'll post again, if necessary, once they see some interest in their message :D
