opening inkscape

opening inkscape

stumped , need help . Downloaded inkscape o46 . how do I open it to even get started . I have never run a program like this before . so its all new to me .
I can not locate anyplace to get step by step instructions . I found the file , did the extract . Now how do I open it to begin ? :?:

If youre on windows navigate to the Inkscape folder and start inkscape.exe
you can make a shortcut of that file and put it on your desktop...
just hand over the chocolate and nobody gets hurt

If you downloaded Inkscape 0.46 Pre3, you've probably downloaded the source code. I'm not sure if there is a pre-compiled version of it anywhere.

EDIT: Ah, the win32 compiled version are now up.
