Seems like you did a nice job and have a nice presentation.
So what do you/others do with these and how does one apply/use them?

If you have one minute to download, there's a little explanation on how to use them inside.
Usually patterns can be part of backgrounds or other type of design, If used correctly they can improve the overall look of it.
Try them and tell me what you think! :D

Thank You RM

I tried them but I must be doing something wrong, my fills are not smooth and well behaved, they get shifted and don't look right. I think I need to experiment more to get it right.

Thanks for posting up the file.

Can you post a picture Patjr? This way i can't help.

I tried a few more of the patterns and I think I started to get them to work.
here is one I must have colored wrong. There is a faint white line running horizontally and a faint red line running vertically.
dunno if this will work?

Can't see your pic, PatJr, just a white square. Did you try to post an SVG? IE can't display SVGs very well, currently (which I'm using IE). It's probably better to post a raster format (PNG, GIF, JPG, etc.)

Even though I can't see it, I'm pretty sure I know what faint line you're seeing. It's a bug in how Inkscape displays things. You can use a filter, in the meanwhile (work underway on fixing the bug, iiuc). Link to the filter in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9034&p=33279&hilit=stitch#p32882

Hello brynn,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, it's an svg file, straight inkscape file too.
It looked fine from Opera 11.50 but I was surprised it showed up. I'll have to look up how to attach a file to a post.

Thank You for the reference and the help.

You can easily convert to PNG, upload to your host, and insert, just like you did the SVG. Use File menu > Export Bitmap ;)

Ok, after a while trying, i managed to download the svg and see what was going on. ( i'm using opera too )
This is something i could suggest:

- Use px not cm, inch, mm etc. This will make things easier.
- When you copy the original path inside a new document, before converting to pattern, make sure X and Y are ?.000
Where ? is the number you choose, i.e. X 25.00 Y 25.00 will work good, X 25.25 Y 25.25 will not work good. Do the same with the square/rectangle where the pattern will be assigned.
- Patterns are not that smart. They will not fit correctly your square/rectangle. Sometimes you need to fix them a bit.
- Actually, yes there are little lines, but they should not be visible at 100%

If this didn't help, please let me know. I'll make a little tutorial with pictures.
