I'm having a small problem with the rules in Inkscape 0.46.

Oddly, the top (left to right) ruler is normal and as it's always been.

The ruler on the left side shows only a fraction of the original ruler. I can see some small tick marks but the numbers are no longer visible.

I have installed 0.47 and now I'm back to 0.46. I've re-installed the O/S and I've removed the .inkscape folder...

While it's not tragic... I'd like to be able to restore the left ruler.

Any suggestions?

I don't know if this will work, but you might try going into Inkscape Preferences, to the Misc page, and put a checkmark on both places for making a toolbar smaller. If it works, I'm not sure if maybe you could get by checking one and not the other. But it certainly can't hurt to try. When I 1st installed v 0.46, I had several bizarre problems (some things were missing, some extra things were showing, etc.) and making the toolbars smaller solved them all. I hope this works for you.

OK, I'm going to attempt to install 0.47rc. Hopefully this release will repair this silliness. I'll report on my findings.

I just compiled Inkscape 0.46-devel and the rulers are perfect.

The Icons on the left are very pretty too. Very nice work. I'm almost afraid now to try 0.47rc.

I also can not see the ruler on the left side and I do not want to compile it myself.
Strangely I can remember seeing the left ruler a few month ago.
somewhere it must be possible to turn them on or off...
I am very very thankful for any suggestions!
