Hi there,
Could someone please explain to me what "rasterize filter effects" and "resolution for rasterization" mean when saving a .svg as PDF? Al;o, what is the impact if I increase "96" to say "200?
I'm not from a graphics background at all so please plain english
Regards,
Michelle
Options for saving as PDF
Re: Options for saving as PDF
For your drawing, the 'rasterize filter effects' part seems to be irrelevant, as far as I can see.
If you used blur, or one of the filters from the Filters menu, then that would not normally be translatable to pdf, and would be lost (i.e. you'd see only the plain paths without the filter).
To circumvent that, Inkscape can make a 'screenshot' of the filtered object, and insert that into the pdf. It will no longer consist of vector (path) data, but only of pixel (raster) data.
The dpi value determines how many pixels there will be per inch in the inserted screenshot, so its resolution.
