I want to copy one part of an image and paste it over another part, thus covering up the part over which I am pasting.
I just started using inkscape yesterday and I can't seem to figure this out. My skills only go as far as Windows Paint . I went through some tutorials so I may have overlooked this or just misunderstood. If this has already been addressed elsewhere, please forgive me and kindly direct me to that post.
Thanks!

Re: Copy one part of an image and paste over another part
If these 2 images are jpgs/gifs/pngs or any other pixel image format, you may want to try an image editor, not a vector graphics program like Inkscape. The GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) is the preferred free image editor, millions of people use it - http://www.gimp.org
Or are the two images in vector formats like ai, eps, or svg?
That doesn't mean you should stop learning how to use Inkscape, this is a great program too, just not for editing pixels
