Copy and Pasting with white Background ?!

Postby 2Worlds » Wed Feb 24, 2010 5:37 am

I was able to create some flowers and other shapes but every time I try to copy and paste to create the design the objects come with awhite background
did I do something wrong?
Or I have to do something else before copying it?
Thanks

Did you create the flowers and other stuff with Inkscape? Or did you make them in another program and want to paste them into Inkscape?

The flowers and other stuff, are they individual objects within an image? Or are they each in an image of their own? Are you copying the entire image? Or just copying the object from within the image?

They a image of their own I used this tutorial to do it
http://www.susiesthoughts.com/2009/07/1 ... -inkscape/
it worked fine but when i try to copy and past to make more flowers than is like is bring the white background with it instead of just the flower

can you post an example of what's happening? if you followed that tutorial there should not be a white background with the flower, it should be transparent.

Did you make the background of the flower image non-transparent for some reason? The default is transparent, but if you made it opaque, AND you're copying the image rather than the flower object, that would cause the white background.

Or if you saved it as a JPG or GIF, AND you're copying the image rather than the flower object, that could also cause a white background.

But llog is right, a screen shot would help :D

That might be an X11 specific problem (of you're using OSX): https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/307005

Happened to me to. Change the X11 settings as described here: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/36209214/ ... rences.png

Worked for me.
