Hi.

If you are more into moving visuals, check out Heathenx's video tutorials:
http://screencasters.heathenx.org/

I'm not sure how screen sharing would work. On linux, or just at all.

Hello,

... mmm ... well, it's tempting me, for curiosity.

I'm in GMT -5, using Win 7. Is it needed to install something?.

There is an option for private messaging in this forum. Use it.

I hope that you are not a bot, or trying to selling some penis-enlargement product. :P

I think scooby-dooz is sincere. I tried to help via (long) PM already. But he wants someone to look at his screen and tell him what to do (hand holding....although for legitimate reason). I looked at gotomeeting -- has a free trial, but costs $ for whole thing. I wonder if there's an open source equivalent? (I also might mention that he seemed to be getting help from someone else at the same time, which was confusing him.)

I have seen several messages, over the years, asking for tutorials written for people with ADD. I'd like to learn more about what would be needed for that. Since Inkscape Community emphasizes tutorials, if they can be made for that group, I might be interested in producing a series. But I don't especially want to make videos (call it stage fright, call it laziness, call it what you will, but I'm just not interested). However, I can make highly detailed and clearly numbered text tutorials with illustrations.

The problem is, that when people post messages and say "I have ADD, I need tutorials" that doesn't explain exactly what they need, to people who don't have ADD/ADHD (or whatever) (which I realize these days is kind of an umbrella diagnisis for all kinds of learning disabilities). But if someone could sincerely and in detail explain what this special group needs, in terms of tutorials, I would seriously consider writing some.

UltraVNC is free and can be used on Windows machines. I would have the student establish the server and allow the tutor remote control.

Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

Oh well,
About the bot, spam thing, I was joking. But not of him. It's something about the actual situation of the forum, and the idea of sharing personal information with other persons. Something that It's becoming more and more delicate on these years. However, his requirement was unusual. I really wanted to test that kind of software, which at first It seemed to me it was something like NetMeeting or that product of google - what is its name?.

Also, I didn't understand the meaning of ADD. Now I see that it's some kind of disease.

About Ultra VNC. I totally had forget about the VNC tecnology. At some point, it's something kind of unsafe. In the sense that other person can have remote control under your computer.

On the other hand, the idea of a meeting on-real time, where some one teach others how to use Inkscape, or show them the state of the project, it's interesting.

Well, I don't see how screensharing among anonymous forum members can ever be safe. Imo, not even among a community who knows each other, can it be entirely safe. I just wanted to let you guys know that I think he's sincere, and not looking to cause anyone harm, in case someone wanted to try and help.

ADD/ADHD is a children's learning disability, rather than disease. Attention Deficit Disorder or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Dyslexia is often lumped into this group of learning disabilities. I think generally, an extremely short attention span is at the heart of it, no matter why the attention span is so short. (I often hear of quite bright children being mis-diagnosed with this, when really, they are just bored, and need more stimulation from the curriculum.) These days, in school (as far as I understand) these children are assigned tutors to sit next to them, to help them along. So that's what scooby-dooz is looking for.

It was my understanding that most children grow out of it. But the number of messages I've seen, the last couple of years....well, either they are youngsters posting, or they didn't grow out of it. Or it's a myth that kids grow out of it.

I would be happy to write tutorials to serve learning disabilities, but I need much more info, to know exactly what would help and what wouldn't. I started a topic on my forum for comments: http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/inde ... opic=116.0

The tutor running UVNC viewer should be fairly safe, provided file-sharing is used with caution.

Fish-flavored toothpaste?
