I have now used inkScape enough that sixteen years of illustrator will fade to my past. (and Gimp replaces adobe very well also). very nice.
The problem I have is inkSpace keyboard shortcuts are nonfunctional. I read about this somewhere but haven't been able to find it again.
Ideas?

Re: Keyboard shortcuts
Hi Garrett,
you can set any keyboard shortcuts you want (or select from some pre-made shortcut maps the Inkscape project provides):
Edit -> Preferences -> Interface -> Keyboard shortcuts
(and there's an overview over the default shortcuts available here: https://inkscape.org/en/doc/keys091.html )
Regards,
Moini

(or do you mean *any* keyboard shortcuts do not work? Then I misunderstood - in that case please provide more details about what 'non-functional' means... :/ )

Re: Keyboard shortcuts
Here's some info on using Inkscape on a Mac: https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/#Mac_ ... fic_issues. Although none of them are about key shortcuts. Just fyi....
But here's a little bell ringing in the back of my head about this. I just can't seem to bring into focus. Likely I read about it in this forum though. So a search might locate some info. Oh, just re-read your message. Maybe you already did search?
I'll try.
Edit
I was wrong. That first issue in the link above, is about the Alt key. Maybe that's what you need?? (I think that was the bell.)

Re: Keyboard shortcuts
Hello again,
Thanks for responding to my not so clear problem statement.
No keyboard shortcuts work. Everything works fine from the GUI but keyboard input is completely not functional. I read somewhere this might require using the monitor to alter something but have not found that again.

Re: Keyboard shortcuts
Garrett,
Is it really *all* keyboard shortcuts? Or maybe just those with Alt and Ctrl/Command?
Do keys like 'Tab' and 'Enter' also not work? What happens if you press s, or n, or c? Don't they switch to the corresponding tools?
What about the arrow keys?
Did you follow the instructions here:
https://inkscape.org/en/download/mac-os/
and here:
https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/#Mac_ ... fic_issues
closely?
