This is a read-only archive of the inkscapeforum.com site. You can search for info here or post new questions and comments at I always have the same challenge- when I want to take an element out of a group, duplicate it, and use it somewhere else.
The problem is that when I duplicate, the new object is still within the group, and if I try to take it out with the XML editor, it usually gets lost.
Here's my example: my business card. The logo at the top is grouped. I'd like to remove the curvy lines from the logo, enlarge them, and use them elsewhere in the card.
Is there a more effective way of doing this?
