Hi!

Postby TheSpartanNerd » Mon Jun 27, 2016 4:01 pm

I have a tiny question.
How can I rotate a set of nodes with a particular node a the center?
That is, I want to set a particular node as a fixed point and rotate all other selected nodes around it.
And by the way, I have zero forum experience. Sorry if I've made a mistake or something.

Thanks.
:)

Hello there!

Image

As you see, you`ll have to enable those two on the toolbar (1) ;
Select the path containing the nodes and deploy the Node tool :tool_node: ;
Select the desired set of nodes and click once more on one of them ;
After all of this, you`ll notice the change on the outer markers and center of rotation will appear (2) ;
Continue with the Node tool and place the center where ever you need it ;

Enabling Snapping will help you placing the center more precisely on the desired node.

Check the Manual for some more info about the Inkscape, and welcome aboard! ;)
:tool_zoom: <<< click! - but, those with a cheaper tickets should go this way >>> :!:

You can also just hover with the mouse over the node you want to be the center, if you're rotating using the keyboard.
See the keyboard reference at https://inkscape.org/en/doc/keys091.html#d0e3878
