I'm working with a png image from a third party which I've imported to inkscape.
On a white background it looks fine but any dark object below it bleeds thru.
OBJECT/FillAndStroke Fill shows opacity = 100% and RGB A = 255
How can I make this image truly opaque?
Image set to 100% opaque but it's still partly transparent
Re: Image set to 100% opaque but it's still partly transpare
Hi.
Open the image in paint (Windows).
Save it back to same name, this will remove the transparency in the PNG file (bug in Paint?)
If you are on Linux, open the image in GIMP and remove transparency.

well-- I do want the background to remain transparent, I just don't want the image itself to be transparent.

An alternative to removing the PNG's alpha channel... The image could be grouped with a white object behind it, to make it look opaque.
Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Hi
Of course - I was thinking of the removing the transparency on the PNG image you are importing into Inkscape - not on the file you are exporting from Inkscape
- Reckon that meaning got "lost in translation"!
