Re: Help embedding svg on scribus
Regards from Portugal .
I had the same problem, and after a little search, I found out that Scribus doesn't support SVG 100%, text and pictures are left behind...
The only way, is to create a Image Frame within Scribus and scale it and move it to the place you want, the clip border will be the image frame you create.
Text, don't even bother to import from an SVG, too many bugs...
I hope it helped.

Re: Help embedding svg on scribus
It's an old post and you probably moved on, but there is a way to preserve your text; export your svg to eps and than import into scribus. You still need to scale, but your elements are there.
Re: Help embedding svg on scribus
Hi:
Well, four years have passed since the last post of this topic. Now Scribus is in its 1.4.0 (actually 1.5.0 though I prefer stable) version, Inkscape is 0.48.3, and I'm still having the problems already commented here.
- .svg import to Scribus comes with just part of the text (still wonder what the need or rule is, since I couldn't find at Inkscape XML editor the difference between the successfully imported text and the one lost),
- arrows and blurs don't come either.
And... not important but disturbing...
- a message ("svg file contains some unsupported features") ALWAYS pops up before i get able to place the image, even when I get what I expected after all. Just try with something as simple as a rectangle alone...
Does anybody experience the same or has any clue to deal with these issues?
Thanks very much.
