This is really strange and I'm not sure if this is the correct forum....
I downloaded GIMP earlier this week and now everytime I open GIMP, my "Open Recent" list in Inkscape disappears. The files are still there, the list is gone.... have tested several times by opening various files, quit Inkscape, open GIMP, quit GIMP, reopen Inkscape - list gone.
I am having an issue with a GIMP disk icon that is displayed on my Desktop that I can't get rid of.... using the GIMP forum for help with that.... and just can't imagine how this is all connected, but have been using Inkscape for 2.5 years (and love it), and this list has always been there.....
Thoughts, anyone????

Thanks for the explanation... this Forum ROCKS! Someone is always there to help!
I'm guessing there is no way to exclude Inkscape from this process... I really like using the open recent list!

Re: GIMP and Open Recent List
Hi.
A workaround would be to start Inkscape and GIMP from a two different scripts.
The scripts would make different "recent-file-list" files.
On Inkscape startup the Inkscape script would:
The GIMP script would do the same but save to "GIMP-recently used.xbel".
As I don't use a MAC I cannot make the script for you. (Anyone else up to the challenge?)
Some info on Applescript:

Failing to make a script you could easily do this manually but it's a tedious process.
Good Luck

Re: GIMP and Open Recent List
Thanks again for your reply! Cannot tell you how your answers helped as I was sure I had created a total disaster on my Mac - and now it looks like it is more of an inconvenience than anything else.
I will review the info on the links you suggested and hope I am equal to the task of writing the scripts... this type of activity usually makes my hands sweat and my heart pound! Maybe someone already has done this and will be sharing.
Thanks again!

Re: GIMP and Open Recent List
Just one final post here.... At the suggestion of a response in the Apple Support Community forum, I downloaded version 2.8.6 of GIMP (had originally downloaded 2.8.4), This seems to have cleared up the "open recent" issues for Inkscape.
They also suggested updating Inkscape (currently using 0.48.1), but think I will hold off on that....
Hope this info can help someone else along the way!
