What is "Image with bad reference"? message

Postby tourquoise » Sun Feb 17, 2008 4:40 am

hi,
Using Inkscape 0.45.1 on Windows Vista, importing a jpg everything is working ok but there is a status message at the bottom of the screen that makes me uneasy. The message says "Image with bad reference: C:\directory\the_imported.jpg" What is a bad reference? (joke: Does an image need a resume with three good references?) I just don't like anything that says "bad" because that means something has gone wrong or will go wrong. But everything runs fine so is the "bad reference" a bad message?
Thanks.

I probably wouldn't concern yourself too much with this, so long as you can see the image. I would guess it doesn't like the format of of the path, specifically the use of "\" to separate directories. I think the SVG standard would prefer to see the path expressed as "c:/directory/the_imported.jpg" instead. I could be wrong though.
