I have a vector shirt design that I'm trying to export to bitmap, but somewhere in the conversion process, part of the lettering is getting wiped out, kind of like some box is covering part of the design. I tried searching for "white box" and "export problems", etc., but all the topics I went through were unrelated.
There seems to be nothing in the artwork that should be doing this in the vector file, although I'm guessing the explanation is relatively simple.
Vector in Inkscape (before)
Exported .png file (after)
White space shows up after bitmap export
Re: White space shows up after bitmap export
This seems like a bug but I can't be sure until I see the file in question.
Have you tried breaking up the paths in that word, or simplifying them very little, maybe even delete a node and try to export again, or change exporting resolution?

I haven't tried deleting a node, so I'll give it a shot. I have changed the color, grouped and un-grouped, merged, and a few other tricks, but nothing fixed it.
Re: White space shows up after bitmap export
After about 5 hours of playing with this I decided to give up on a solution, but I did find a work-around. I imported the .svg into GIMP and deleted everything except for the path for the lettering. I saved and exported the path, and imported back to the Inkscape file. From there, it exported to .png correctly. Hopefully this can help someone else out in the future.
Re: White space shows up after bitmap export
Very interesting if you still have the original Inkscape svg and you are allowed to post it I would love to try to figure it out.
Your mind is what you think it is.

Yeah, me too. I don't think you can upload in this forum. (I can never remember which ones, despite being told several times .) It would only take one try uploading here, to find out. But you can upload in the Help forum for sure.
It does look just like a rogue node or open path. But it happening during the export is a real puzzle!

Re: White space shows up after bitmap export
I´ve observed the same kind of bug:
It seems to happen with uge single paths consisting of hundreds or thousands of single nodes.
