Flamenco Dancer image

Postby Nifty62 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 2:52 am

Hey all,

I'm new to the forums but I've been using inkscape for a a few weeks now to make the graphics for my website that I'm about to launch.

But I've gotten side tracked to help my sister out. She is a Spanish teacher and I'm building her a website, as a surprise, to advertise her as a tutor.

While I was building the site I looked for pictures that I would want to use in the background and I found the absolute perfect picture of a flamenco dancer. But I would really really like to have a pair of them, each in a different pose on either side of the content.

I was hoping that I could show the picture I found and perhaps someone here has the skills to do a couple pictures in the same style as the picture I found. I would be more than happy to put the persons name and a link to their website in the footer of the site showing them to be the illustrator.

If someone agrees to help me out, I would like two images that look like the example I will provide. They should be the same height and width but I would like two different poses and perhaps a different color dress on one of them?

I understand that typically this would be a paid type job but I have no money and I really want this to look good for my sister, I'm hoping that perhaps some free advertising might make this a beneficial arrangement for all involved. :)

Here is a link to the image that I found.

Thanks guys!!

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Your link goes to a page of search results with several flamenco dancers in several styles. You'll probably want to fix that, so that folks can have some kind of idea what kind of work you need done :D

see that 'colorbox' watermark across the middle? That means that you are probably going to be in violation of copyright :( unless you license the image, and of course so will anyone who uses the image to make a vector version for your website. Just letting you know why you might not get a lot of offers. ;)

I know it's copyrighted, which is why I'm looking for someone to draw a picture in the same abstract kind of style. I'm not asking for a rip off of the same picture lol.

Hhmmm....well, I know Inkscape well enough to replicate this style. It's simple enough that you may get an offer or 2. But I don't have the artistic skills to draw the human form. I'm really tempted to try, but I know I don't have the right skills.

Have you thought about trying to find the original artist? Maybe they would only charge a small fee?

Well, hang in there. I know that a lot of Inkscapers like to practice their skills :D

Honestly I hadn't thought of looking for the original artist. But the thing is, I literally don't even have enough money for a "small fee" lol.

And I thought I should add one more thing, if someone decides to do it, it would be awesome if it was on a transparent background. :)
