I installed the latest version stable Inkscape, but I can not change the fonts. If selection from the window box a type of font it does not change. I note that launching from terminal when I try to select a font gives me:

** (inkscape:30533): WARNING **: Family name Bitstream Vera Sans does not have an entry in the font lister.

I hope to have been clear ....

someone who found the same problem?

PS: I use Debian/lenny!

Try opening the text and font dialog (Ctrl + Shift + T), select a font and set it as default.
