Great news.

Today the stable release of Inkscape 0.46 Win32 is up on sourceforge.
Thanks to many who tested and several who fixed bugs. This release has been a real team effort.

You'll find an installer file here - http://downloads.sourceforge.net/inkscape/
Windows specific source files will follow very soon if you're keen.

Something to report on Inkscape v0.46 for Win32 is that when you go to minimize from the window bar instead of minimizing the inkscape window just goes down then up again. Not too important but something I've noticed. The regular minimize button works fine.

^ No problem here. Minimize works normally for me.

That's cool, Dante, it may be specific to my machine.

I have the same problem. It's only when you click on it on the TASKBAR, the other minimizing methods work. In addition, I cannot change the text font using the drop down menu. The font dialog on the main menu still works. Also, the size box is graphically messed up, but it still functions. Does anyone else have this font switching problem?

Another problem occurred. When working on a poster, it became so laggy, making it nearly impossible to even continue work. The selection handles lag a second behind when I click. Also, when I type like maybe 6 letters, nothing happens, then over the next 5 seconds, the letters slowly print out. I however isolated this problem to using Asian fonts with kanji characters (MS Mincho). It's a bummer trying to intermix Japanese with English, not being able to switch fonts easily, and having it lag like crazy.

The taskbar problem has been reported as bug 212404.

For the font thing, I think there's a problem if the default font isn't installed. Use the Text and Font dialog (Shift+Ctrl+T) to select a better default, then click the "Set as default" button.
