Im new to using inkscape. I'm just trying to change the dimensions of a logo I have but when I save it, it saves the blank background as well. How can I import my logo, change the dimensions and then save it as just the logo and not the page behind it?

For this to happen, I guess the logo must be in a bitmap format. Inkscape isn't the ideal tool for resizing bitmap images (better to use a bitmap editor), but if you really want to use Inkscape for this, make sure you use Export Bitmap (on the File menu) to export the result.
