Help needed with DXF

Postby buggy1114 » Sat Jan 27, 2018 1:32 pm

I've been battling this issue for a while now, it only happens with certain fonts. I would love to solve this issue. I make cut files for cricut/silhouette etc. So, I always be sure to save each file as a dxf for silhouette users. However, sometimes my font does this weird thing. Does anyone have a solution? I have tried everything. The font should look like the first 3 letters, the last 2 letters shouldn't have that solid fill. Which means this will not cut properly.

Best to provide an example svg and the resulting dxf. You can put the files in a zip-file like this.

Then, attach the zip-file like you have done with the jpg.

The entire Inkscape version and build number can be easily copied and pasted from the top right of the Help>About window to the forum reply page and we can then know precisely which version you are using.

Another resource you might enjoy is Kay's blog: http://cleversomeday.com/

Kay knows both Inkscape and DS.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

This is likely a DS issue.

The dxf file opens fine in a number of professional programs here...

I'd ask Kay at http://cleversomeday.com/ what she thinks about this.

Just curious. "DS"?
