Colour filling

Postby nathant » Fri Jun 14, 2019 1:14 pm

Hi All,

What is the best practice way for colouring?

I imported an SVG containing lines, but when I try to use the paint bucket tool it tells me there 'area is not bounded' though it appears to be?

Is the imported line in the wrong format or something?

I want each bounded section to be a different colour.

Thanks.

in the control bar for the fill tool :tool_paintbucket: make sure the drop down menu for 'fill by:' is set to visible colors. You also have to see the entire area on your screen for fill to work, i.e. don't zoom in.
Your mind is what you think it is.

Because there are already paths I recommend to convert the lines with alt+cmd+C, unite everything to separate in the next step to receive individual parts you can color with the fill&contour (shift+cmd+F)toolset to your liking:

Here's an alternate version of what you might do but unlike Polygon's this makes some assumptions about the coloring intent that are probably wrong! But the file is tiny though.
