Unable to open Linux saved SVG in Windows

I'm getting a "Failed to load the requested file" when trying to open a linux saved svg from inkscape in Windows version of inkscape. Is there a special file format I need to save in?

Does the SVG contain an imported image?

Are you able to post the file online for us to examine?
