Layering problems

Postby DerpyArtist » Wed Feb 03, 2016 8:49 am

So I'm making an image with a group of characters. I'm not sure how I'm going to place them so each of them has their own layer and sublayers for their colors and effects. It was going smoothly for a few characters then all of a sudden the color in the sublayer began appearing over the lines in the parent layer. I don't know what I did to make it change. Can someone help me so I don't have an eternity long list of layers? D:

I think you don't need layers at all for what you want to achieve.
Saving to plain svg and reopening might work? Haven't tried but since layers are unsupported by the specs they woul be represented by groups -then you could select all (Ctrl+A) and ungroup (Ctrl+Shift+G) until no groups remain.

Probably you switched your layer's blending mode that affected the rendering.

Switching the blend mode to Multiply seemed to fix the issue. Thank you. :)

Wouldn't recommend that, but anyway glad you are happy with it.

From the little bit of information you provided, I don't even understand what the problem is yet. And I can't imagine how changing the blend mode would fix it. Likely it's just a coincidence, rather than a true solution.

Anyway, if you should find it's not solved after all, please show us at least screenshots of before and after. The SVG file would be even better than screenshots!
