Problems regarding Fill and Stroke

Postby CrystalAngel » Thu Dec 22, 2016 10:22 pm

Hello there, please help me with something that has been quite a bother up to now...
For some reason, when I click on the Bezier :tool_pen: tool, and then draw a line, its presets are that the fill and not the stroke appears. I have tried fixing it in preferences, but no matter what it says, when I draw a line, it'll still have the same settings. I can of course arrange it, but I have numerous lines to draw and don't have the time to do it for every single one.
It didn't use to do that before, and the canvas was already being used ; it worked fine.
Thank you for your attention.

Hi.

In the preferences there are two options
-use the last used style or
-use the tool's own style.

First one is the default -select the drawn path and change its style in the fill and stroke tab (Shift+Ctrl+F) then every newly drawn path will have that selected style.

If you choose the latter option in the preferences, set the style of an existing path to your liking, then while the object is still selected click the take from selection button in the preferences menu.

Make sure that you don't use 'From clipboard' as 'Shape' unless you intend to (and have a path copied to the clipboard).

If the clipboard is empty when drawing a path with shape taken from clipboard, the pen/pencil tool will created filled output - the path with 'Pattern along path' effect applied using the fallback pattern for the path effect (which is just a short straight line (d="M 0,0 1,0")).

If you select such a filled path, the message in the status bar will inform about any path effects that are applied to the selected object.
